Frequently Asked Questions
Lash extensions are false lashes that are applied to each individual natural lash using a safe adhesive. They enhance the length, curl, thickness, and fullness of your natural eyelashes without the hassle of mascara or strip lashes. They typically last 2-3 weeks, depending on how well they are taken care of. To learn about aftercare, please checkout my blog post on the topic (tutorials included). Do lash extensions damage your natural eyelashes?
The process of getting lash extensions does not damage your natural lashes. The average person has somewhere between 90-150 natural lashes on the upper eyelid on each eye, and sheds somewhere around 35 per week. Your natural lashes follow a growth cycle, where they fall out and start the growth process all over again. Usually, we don’t even notice. With eyelash extensions, we attach false lashes to each individual natural lash that you have. This obviously makes it more noticeable when your lashes fall out. Because of how much more noticeable it is, people sometimes mistake this fallout for natural lashes being damaged. As long as your lash artist is properly applying eyelash extensions, this process does not cause natural lash damage. BUT, natural lash damage can occur if you are plucking, tugging, not cleaning, rubbing, or sleeping directly on your lashes.
Where are you located?
My studio is located at 115 N College Ave, suite 010 Bloomington, IN. When you arrive, you will go through the doors that say "Goods For Cooks" and go down the stairs to your left. Once you are down the stairs, my studio will be right there. This is a downtown location, so you will either need to use metered parking or a nearby parking garage. I share this studio with other local lash artists who share the goal of giving each client a relaxing and fun atmosphere.
How long does it take?
Full lash sets can take up to 3 hours. While I can usually get a full set done in 2 hours, sometimes it takes me longer if you have a ton of lashes or if your lashes are super curly or just particularly difficult. I like to block out the full 3 hours to make sure I am doing the best job that I possibly can. Fills can take up to 2 hours, but I usually complete them in 1 hour and 30 minutes. I like to block out the full 2 hours just in case you have a lot of outgrown lashes/ many lashes missing. When it is your appointment, your lashes, comfort, and natural lash health are my only concerns. I would much rather prioritize giving you a great experience and perfect lashes than prioritize speed at the cost of quality. You deserve the best service and lashes that I can give you. <3
What should I expect during my appointment?
At your first appointment, we will collaborate to discover your desired look and what mapping pattern will fit you best. After you get comfy on the lash bed, I’ll tape down your bottom lashes and get to work! This is your time to relax. Many people like to nap, while others enjoy chatting. When the lashes are applied, I’ll go through the process of bonding and drying them. The tape will then be removed and your new look will be revealed! We will go over how to care for your lashes, and you will receive a lash spoolie and an aftercare card. At your first appointment, you will also be given a loyalty punch card to get money off of future services! Payment will be collected at the end of your appointment. Accepted payments include cash (preferred when possible), venmo, cashapp, paypal, zelle, or card.
